Not in America - Part 1
We have been in Turkey long enough to not even notice some of the differences we experience here. However, every once in a while, we have a "Not in America" moment when we realize that some things are very different here. We will try to be more observant and share some of these moments with you... Here is Part 1.Milk comes in a box here. It is not refrigerated until it is opened, and although it took some getting used to, it's actually kinda nice because we can stock up on it and it lasts for a long time! It doesn't taste exactly the same as American milk, but it's not too bad (a year and a half later we can say that). The other day I was opening a new box (it was a different brand than we usually buy) and poured it into a glass and the first thing I said was "This milk isn't the same color as the milk we usually buy." Jeff and I kinda laughed and commented to eachother that we would never say that in America, and if we did, we would never continue to drink the milk! It tasted fine, weird color and all!
