Our big girl
Adeline is now 2 1/2 and as always, keeps us laughing, learning and loving (that alliteration was for you, Baba). The pictures below are from kid's night at Chick-Fil-A. We stood in line for about 30 minutes to get her face painted and by the time we were #2 in line, she said she didn't want to get it done anymore. WHAT? I told her that we needed to at least try it to see if she would like it, and of course, she loved it. She sat so still the entire time, and while I thought the lady was going to put a little, simple, pink butterfly on Adeline's cheek, this is what we got! Adeline was so proud of it and couldn't wait to get home to show it to Baba. She is growing up so quickly... Here are a few things she is doing these days:
- She has always been interested in reading and she still loves "reading" books with us. Her favorite right now is The Jesus Storybook Bible that she will bring to us and ask us to read the next chapter to "find out what happens next". Thanks, Lindsey, for the GREAT gift!
- She knows all of her letters and will [usually] sing the ABC song for you. For most of the letters, she knows at least a word or two that begin with that letter. A funny thing about that, we tend to spell words when she is around if we don't want her to hear them (i.e., playground, ice cream, cookie). Well, she now knows how to spell zoo and pool, so I guess we will have to come up with code words!
- She can count to 20, although lately she has been skipping 14-18 :)
- She still likes things neat and clean - she takes pride in cleaning off the table if her food spills or cleaning up her toys in her room.
- Potty training is getting better and better! We aren't 100% there yet, but it will happen.
- She is quite the cautious one, and definitely takes her time walking. We are working on being "faster". I thought she would be scared of swimming, but she will jump right in a pool and "swim" around in her floaties.
- She is a great eater and will try just about anything! (If you had told me that she would eat so well about a year ago I would have NEVER believed you!) Her favorite foods are rice, beans and graham crackers.
- And, just like her little sister, she is such a great sister. HE has surely blessed us with two amazing little girls!
So amazing to read how God has grown and blessed your family! Thanks for sharing these little glimpses into your life!
