A few weeks ago, we had a picnic in the park with some friends from our Tea House. It was a nice afternoon with some great friends and good food.
This is a Turkish school bus. Kids riding these buses are picked up and dropped off very close to their apartments. The streets are so narrow and steep, there is no way a big ole' yellow school bus could travel from neighborhood to neighborhood. But these minivans are perfect for fitting in some tight spots. Yes, this ambulance has it's lights on, but no, there is no emergency. Ambulances and police cars often travel around with their lights on. When we first moved here, we couldn't help but think that we did something wrong when a police car pulled up behind us with it's blue light flashing. But, now it's just normal to see lights on... If someone really does something wrong, there are definitely sirens and megaphones to get your attention!
